‘The Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality’ or CTH for short was known as CTHCM since 1982. CTH provides valuable qualifications for tourism and hospitality industries.

CTH is an awarding body approved by Ofqual, DCELLS and CCEA who are the official regulators of qualifications, exams and tests in England, Wales and Northern Ireland respectively.

With strong industry endorsements from Virgin Atlantic, GTMC, Star Alliance and the Institute of Hospitality, CTH provides a first-class learning experience and unique professional qualifications which will lead you to a rewarding career in the tourism and hospitality industry.

The CTH Diploma and Advanced Diploma programmes are recognised by major organisations in the hospitality and tourism industries as suitable for employment at supervisory and management level. The courses have been awarded Institute of Hospitality endorsement. All learners on CTH Diploma programmes are eligible for Affiliate Membership of the Institute of Hospitality and those students who successfully complete the CTH Advanced Diploma programmes are eligible to apply for Associate membership.

Travel and tourism is the fastest growing industry in the world. According to the estimation of the  World Tourism Organisation, around one job in every ten depends upon tourism.

 

Tourism Management Courses

The CTH Diploma courses provide organised and structured training to meet the expectations of this fastest growing industry. 

On completion of a CTH Diploma or Advanced Diploma course, CTH students may gain entry onto the second and third year of university hospitality and tourism programmes. Links exist with a number of universities for students who are interested in enhancing their qualifications. These universities have excellent tourism and/or hospitality departments and offer CTH students the opportunity to secure a successful future in these industries. Details of the universities having articulation agreements with CTH are found below.
Universities will assess each individual student who has achieved a CTH Diploma or Advanced Diploma on their individual merits and experience. Consistent with CTH requirements, students must have successfully completed Secondary or High School education. The universities usually require applicants to have a credit profile in order to demonstrate they have the capability to progress to the Second or Final year of a Degree course as appropriate. In all cases, students will need an IELTS of 6.0 or equivalent.
The qualifications are also recognised by following British and other Universities.

Bournemouth University

Bournemouth UniversityHolders of a CTH Advanced Diploma qualification may gain entry onto the final year of Bournemouth University’s Hospitality and Tourism Degree programmes. Bournemouth University is pleased to review applications from CTH students who have achieved a credit profile and who have attained IELTS 6.0 (Academic) or equivalent, for progression onto their BA (Hons) International Hospitality and Tourism Management Top-Up Degree.

Thames Valley University

Thames Valley UniversityCTH students can progress onto the second or final year of the BA (Hons) in Tourism Studies.

Middlesex University – Dubai Campus, U.A.E

Middlesex University - DubaiCTH students can progress from the CTH Diploma in
Tourism Management to 2nd year of the Middlesex University Dubai
BA (Hons) Major in International Tourism Management with possible options in Business Studies, Marketing or Human Resource Management. Students completing the Advanced Diploma programmes in Tourism Management  can progress on to the final year of The Middlesex University Dubai BA (Hons) in Hospitality Management and Tourism or BA (Hons).

University College Birmingham

University College BirminghamThe University College Birmingham accepts successful CTH graduates on to their second or final year BA (Hons) in Tourism Business Development degree.  Students receive their degree from the University of Birmingham.

University of Sunderland

University of SunderlandCTH students which have passed the Advanced Diploma in Tourism  can progress on to study the final year of the BSc (Hons) International Tourism and Hospitality Management awarded by the University of Sunderland, at a number of colleges in the UK.

London South Bank University

London South Bank UniversityLondon South Bank University, (LSBU), is focused on vocational qualifications which improve graduates’ career prospects.  CTH students can apply for entry onto the second or final year of the BA (Hons) Tourism Programme.  CTH and LSBU have a progression agreement that would guarantee entry to CTH students onto the second or final year of the LSBU undergraduate Tourism and Hospitality programme.

Edith Cowan University

Edith Cowan UniversityEdith Cowan University in Perth, a gateway to Asia is Western Australia’s second largest university with approximately 23,000 students, including in excess of 3,000 students originating from more than 80 countries. The Edith Cowan Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management prepares competent graduates for careers in the hospitality, travel and tourism industries. Students who have completed the CTH Diploma and Advanced Diploma programmes in tourism will be granted entry and 120 credits into the university¹s Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management.

University of Northampton

University of NorthamptonCTH Diploma in Tourism Management students can progress on to the University of Northampton HND Travel and Tourism course. Advanced Diploma in Tourism Management students can progress on to the final year of their BA (Hons) Travel and Tourism Management degree.

Heriot Watt University

Heriot Watt UniversityCTH students who complete the Diploma and Advanced Diploma levels are credited with five exemptions out of the total twelve modules for their BA in Business Administration. Students can generally manage six modules per academic year so a focussed student may be able to complete seven in a calendar year, thereby providing the student with a degree in three years. The Heriott Watt degree is well supported with excellent comprehensive manuals and is by examination only – no dissertation.
